XKCD IS STEALING JOKES
woke up this morning to a bunch of people telling me that xkcd stole my joke
looks like they were right
totally fucking lame — i always knew this comic wasn’t funny but i had no idea randall was “crowdsourcing” his jokes. i use that shit in my standup and now people are going to think i’m quoting a dumb webcomic. thanks a ton you fucking dick.
p.s. please help spread this around and if you know how to get it to mr. munroe, please do. i would really like to see this matter rectified!
Not the first time something like this has happened.

This is shite, but hey, Easty retweeted it! I know him.
Not to like put a damper on this or anything, but Fight Club is a pretty well-referenced movie, and the two images do not seem to connect (one’s about a book club, one’s about the movie).
Yeah, I agree. The whole ‘first rule of fight club’ thing is a big part of pop culture. I’ve made a joke like that before. A lot of people have. Like how a lot of people make this joke. Even the author acknowledges this. Some things are just common. It’s just the whole ‘Simpsons did it’ thing all over again.
Apparently saying “is do not talk about Fight Club” is now stealing. Not from the original author, mind you, but from this person I’ve never hear of on Twitter. Now you know!
/sarcasm
I know it pains you to nerd out for XKCD, but you weren’t the first to make the joke “is to not talk about X club.” I think I made it in 2001 when I didn’t want people to talk about my high school group.
Yeah, I made it up first, before anyone really used the internet. DUH!
BTW, if you hate on XKCD it probably means you “don’t get it.” That’s cool. A google search usually helps out, boo.
